Let The Redeemed Tell Their Story – August 4, 2016
Psalm 107:1, Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. 2Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story— those He redeemed from the hand of the foe.

Recently, I found myself reading the 107th Psalm over and over again, and it’s truly an amazing Psalm.  Verse 1 says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” And just why should we give thanks to the Lord?  The answer to that is found in verse 2, “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story…” There it is, “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story.”

The word redeem means, to buy back or buy out of something. The term was used specifically in reference to the purchase of a slave’s freedom. Jesus’ death on the cross is what bought us out of slavery of sin. The Bible tells us that for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but Jesus death on the cross bought us back from slavery of sin. Now that you know what it means to be redeemed, read those verses again. “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. 2Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story…” And what is the story?  We are forgiven because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. Now that’s worth giving thanks!

Think about it…and have a blessed day!
