John 6:51, I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
At Cottonwood Creek, I’ve been in a teaching series entitled, “The Case For Christ!” One time Jesus said in John 6:51, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever…” It’s interesting because if you look right before Jesus made that statement about Himself, He performed the miracle of feeding 5,000 by multiplying the five loaves and two fish that a young boy offered.
As that miracle was, Jesus knew that if all we have is earthly food, we will certainly get hungry again. What we really need is spiritual food. That’s why in that same chapter Jesus said in John 6:35, “…I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty.” What an incredible truth. Just like the food we eat on this earth doesn’t satisfy us for long, if all we eat and crave is the food of this world, satisfaction will elude us. However, the real spiritual food that lasts forever can be found only in Jesus and in His words.
As we head into the weekend, hopefully we will enjoy some good but, and remember to get your spiritual helping on Sunday, satisfaction guaranteed.
Think about that and have a blessed weekend!
