Your Relationships To Others – January 10, 2017

Matthew 6:12, And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ 14For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

The New Year is always a great time for reflecting on the past year and making improvements and changes for the New Year. This week, I thought I would share several areas where scripture encourages us to perform a spiritual checklist. If you missed yesterday’s checklist you can find it on my daily blog, www.johnmarkcaton.com. A second area on this spiritual checklist is your relationships. In the Lord’s prayer, Jesus said in Matthew 6:12, “And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ 14For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”

As you move into 2017, are you holding a grudge against anyone? Do you have an unforgiving spirit towards anyone? Do you secretly desire revenge or harbor jealousy or bitterness towards someone? If so, Jesus says your 2017 will never be as good as God wants it to be until you offer forgiveness and stop seeking revenge. So, as you begin 2017, check your relationships, and, if necessary, forgive someone so  you will be well on your way to a better 2017.

Think about it and have a blessed day!
