John 10:10, The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

At Cottonwood Creek, I’ve been in a teaching series entitled, “The Case For Christ.” At its core, Christianity has always been about evidence. In John 10:10, Jesus said “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” No greater truth could ever be told. The thief that Jesus is talking about is Satan. You don’t have to look hard at this world to see the brokenness in the world. Sin has zapped more  joy than we can even comprehend.

We see disease, crimes, heartache, broken relationships and the list goes on. The thief has been very effective in killing and destroying this world. However, Jesus says there is a better way. Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life, and have it to the full!” Jesus is saying, even though we live in a broken world, He can bring us peace and joy and give us life to the full. That doesn’t mean every one of us will be rich or always healthy. What Jesus did say is- that we can have joy even in the midst of difficulties and hardships. Maybe that is a word for you today, if the thief has stolen something from you, look to Jesus and let Him give you joy in the midst of your difficulty.

Think about that…and have a blessed day!
