Have you ever gone searching for yourself? A tour group in Iceland was touring the country-side stopping its bus along the way for smaller tour-group opportunities. After stopping for one such tour, one traveler never returned to the bus. After waiting a couple of hours for the tourist, the bus driver called the police, and the search began. Search parties and rescue teams formed to safely find the missing woman.
It turns out, the lady was not missing at all. She was on the bus the entire time. The confusion resulted from the fact that the traveler had changed clothes and freshened up before reboarding the bus. She had actually been in the rescue party looking for herself. The name of the missing person had never been announced to the group, and she did not recognize the description of herself.
This reminds me of the passage in scripture that states, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” This is true even when we don’t know we are lost. We may not recognize that we are lost, and we may even be searching for ourselves in this confusing world; just know that Jesus Christ is there for you always. (John 3:16)
Have a blessed day!
