Ephesians 5:33, However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
1 Corinthians 13:4, Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
This week I wanted to give you practical biblical advice on the five most important earthly relationships we have in our lives. If you are married, one of your basic relationships is with your spouse. The Bible says in Exodus 5:33, “A husband must love his wife… and the wife must respect her husband.” Did you catch that subtle difference? A husband is to love his wife. Guys, your wife needs your love, care and compassion more than she needs anything else from you. Your wife is not an employee to be bossed around or a servant to meet your every need. She is your wife and she needs your love.
Then the verse says, “…the wife must respect her husband.” Ladies, your husband needs your respect and admiration more than he needs anything else from you. Disrespect drives spouses apart to devastating points. So today, if you are married, husbands love your wife and wives respect your husbands.
Think about that and have a great day!
