Did you hear about the Atlanta, Georgia couple, whose daughter’s engagement was cancelled just six weeks prior to her wedding?  All the major planning and tasks had been completed, menus were reserved, invitations were sent out, and food was ordered, yet apparently all for naught.  However, instead of simply cancelling everything, the family decided to throw this great banquet for the homeless in the area. The heartache of a cancelled wedding turned into a heartwarming event that day which included a 4-course meal, 200 of Atlanta’s poorest people, and the previously scheduled performers and entertainers.

As I thought about that, I thought about Jesus in Matthew chapter 22.  Scripture says that He threw a banquet for everyone.  He does not only ask for the super-rich or the super-religious.  He says – Go invite anyone you can find.  Even those who are unworthy can come and eat at My table.

No matter where you are in life… no matter what you have or have not done, Jesus welcomes you.  When others turn away or shut you out, remember that Jesus is there for you.

Think about it and have a blessed day!

Matthew 22:9, So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.
