Hi, this is Justin Frazier, Associate Pastor at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church with your Inspirational thought of the day.

Did you know the way we think about a situation can greatly affect its outcome?

There is a story about a school district that did an experiment. The superintendent called 3 teachers and told them they were the “best” teachers in the entire district and that they had been selected to teach the top students to see what the “best teachers” could achieve with the “best students.”

At the end of the year, this selected group of kids tested 28% higher than the rest of the kids in the district, so the superintendent called the teachers back in and told them she had a confession to make. She told them that their students were actually not above average in any way, shape or form. In fact, their names were pulled randomly from the computer. She proceeded to confess that the teachers themselves were all randomly selected as well.

You see, the experiment wasn’t really to see what the best teachers could do with the best students but rather to measure the power of a positive outlook.   By telling the teachers that both they and their students were the very best, it changed how the teachers viewed themselves and their students – That’s the power of a positive attitude!

Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

I don’t know what life has in store for you today, but I do know things will go much better if you stay positive and keep your focus on God.

Have a blessed day!
