All of us have leadership responsibilities in one way or another, and we hope to accomplish great things in life whether it’s as an executive, politician, parent, minister, lawyer, educator, or engineer.  These positions can carry some pretty cool titles like:  Dr., Honorable, Reverend, Mom, Dad, CPA, R.N., or PH.D. But, there is a title that surpasses all of these, and it does not have any initials. This title is Character.  George Washington said that the title of character was the highest of all titles.  He said of himself, “I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” Proverbs 22:1 reminds us:  A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold. When character is possessed, positive influence is exerted on those around you.  Their lives are changed, sometimes to a small degree or sometimes to a large measure because of their interaction with you and your character.   Scott Sanford Executive Pastor Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church
