I love these words from the Book of Isaiah that say, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary… He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:28-31).
Too often we forget those words and think strength and happiness have passed us by. I just read an article on happiness that kind of surprised me. It was a 22- year study of some 2,000 healthy men. All of these men were veterans of World War II or the Korean Conflict. Interestingly enough they found that their overall happiness did not peak until they were 65 years old, and it did not start declining until they were 75.
So regardless of how you are feeling today, realize your best days are still ahead of you. Trust in the Lord, and do good!
Think about…the best is yet to come!
