I just finished viewing the movie trailer for the upcoming release of the new Superman movie. And for all these years, millions of Superman fans, including me, believed the “S” stood for Superman; however, the trailer reveals that we are wrong.

In the new movie, Lois Lane interviews Superman. She asks him what the letter S centered on his chest symbolizes. Superman’s answer reveals that it is actually not an S. Instead, Superman says, “On my world the symbol means hope.” then Lois Lane quickly quips, “Well on this planet it’s an S.”

That was an eye opening revelation for me, and probably for many other millions of Superman fans. For years I thought the S clearly stood for Superman.

In the same vein, the Apostle Paul hoped that our eyes would be open to the hope that God provides for each of us every day. Paul wrote this, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you…” Ephesians 1:18

That is my prayer for you today. That your eyes would be open to the hope we all have in God – A hope that the Bible calls an “anchor” for our soul.

Think about it, and have a HOPE-FILLED DAY!
