Today’s Inspirational Thought is brought to us by Kathy Bennett, Women’s Minister at Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church
Parenting is the process of promoting the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of a child. But, in reality, parenting can be summed up in two words: letting go – from that first day of school, to handing over the car keys, the farewell to college, and finally, when they leave to cleave to another.
I remember a Mother who said: I’ll never forget the wave of emotion I felt after my first child left for college when I saw an empty spot in the driveway where he always parked knowing he would never live permanently in our home again.
God’s Word says, In Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
In short, the best way to prepare for letting go is to teach our children to live responsible, Godly lives on their own.
Have a blessed day!
