On a day like this, when I rolled out of bed in desperate need of my morning coffee, this article caught my attention:
“9 Amazing Benefits of Coffee”
While I will not go in to all 9 benefits of coffee, a few caught my attention:
* Coffee protects your brain by making you more resistant to Dementia and Alzheimer’s as you age.
*Coffee lowers your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
*Coffee is great for your skin. Drinking coffee most likely helps you ward off some forms of skin cancer.
*But, here is the one that caught my eye. Coffee may lower your risk of death.
We are all going to die eventually, but coffee appears to lengthen the “when” for individuals with certain chronic conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. In fact, the study found that the more coffee, the lower the risk of death regardless of whether participants drank caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee.
While researchers are not ready to add a cup of coffee to the “super foods” category, there are clearly benefits to your morning java.
So today, make sure your spiritual ‘cup runneth over’ by placing your faith in Jesus Christ, and let your physical cup be filled with the comfort of your favorite steaming hot cup of coffee.
Wake up each day; dive in to God’s Word with coffee in hand. One will satisfy your body and the other will satisfy your soul.
