Naming a child is the first of many important choices that a parent makes, and choosing a child’s name is not an easy task. Most couples start by consulting family and friends or searching the internet and baby name books.

Recently a couple could not agree on a name so the parents-to-be created a poll on Facebook titled “Name My Child.”   Family, friends, and strangers alike could vote for one of 4 potential names.

Facebook users weighed in on the name and on January 31st Madelyn was born.  The name Madelyn beat out Emily, McKenna, and Addilyn; all good names.

There is excitement in a name.  When speaking of Jesus’ name, in Philippians, the Bible says that “God…highly exalted Him and gave Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

There is no need to vote. Now that’s a great name!!!
