Psalm 119:105, says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” In other words, when we follow God and listen to his word, we will always end up in the right place…always.
Recently, a Los Angeles couple boarded an international flight to go on an extended vacation, but after making the connecting flight to their intended destination they fell asleep, only to wake up on the wrong continent and 7,000 miles off course. It seems that they had actually traveled to Bangladesh instead of the African country of Senegal. They did eventually get to their intended destination a day late and their luggage arrived another two days after that.
As I thought about that story, I wondered how many of us have wandered off course? And like those weary travelers, we find ourselves way off the mark. Remember, there is always good news with God. If you will simply make the decision to turn back- which is the word ‘repent’ in Scripture- then God will guide you the rest of the way.
You can claim Psalm 37 as your own which says, “Trust in the Lord and do good; then you can dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture” (Psalm 37:4)
So, if you are snoozing through life and wake up to a lost feeling, don’t give up; don’t assume you have to stay where you are today. Make some changes, and take a positive detour in your life. As so many of our GPS systems tell us when we get off-course- RECALCULATE!
Think about it, and have a blessed day!
