Peace And Joy – December 15, 2016

Romans 15:12, And again, Isaiah says, “The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in Him the Gentiles will hope.” 13May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Peace is best defined as- mutual harmony between people or groups. We must be honest and say there is not a lot of peace in this world right now. Just think about it, politically we aren’t at peace, the Middle East isn’t at peace, race relations aren’t in a state of peace and the recent terror attacks certainly do not encourage us that peace is coming anytime soon.

However, as we think about Christmas, it was all about peace and joy. Read these words from the Bible found in Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Did you catch that? “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him…” The God of hope sent a Savior to settle our salvation. Let the hope of Christmas fill you up with joy and peace.

Cottonwood Creek and I wish you and your family a very merry Christmas!
