No Shame In Truth – November 2, 2016

Romans 1:25, They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator…

It’s ‘No Shame November’ at Cottonwood Creek. In this season of voting and elections, the stream of rumors and questionable statements keep coming at us, and we find ourselves asking, “Is that true?” You see, we don’t enjoy being lied to, being influenced by something that turns out to be false, or being misled into a decision that we would ultimately regret. Intuitively, we like truthfulness in our relationships as consumers in the marketplace and in the business world. When truth isn’t upheld, we experience pain, anger and even lawsuits.

Spiritual truth is important too. There are always those who abandon it as Paul says in Romans 1:25, “They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator…” Don’t be ashamed of the truth that God is the Creator, and don’t be tempted by any philosophy that would direct you away. After all, Jesus said that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and that the Truth will make you free. So, let’s not be ashamed to honor God while being truth-tellers and truth-seekers.
