No Shame In Faith – November 1, 2016

Matthew 17:20, …Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

It’s ‘No Shame November’ at Cottonwood Creek and today let’s look back to January 15, 2009 when 155 passengers and crew put their faith in US Airways Captain Sullenberger, or “Sully” as we know him from the Tom Hanks movie. Flight 1549 struck a flock of geese and lost all engines. Miraculously, Captain Sully navigated the aircraft to an emergency landing on the Hudson River and all survived.

It’s amazing how much faith we put in people we don’t know and technology that we don’t understand. God, however, has made Himself known and explained Himself in Christ. He also tells us that faith is powerful and that even a little faith can accomplish much. Jesus says in Matthew 17:20, “…Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
So, don’t be ashamed of that mustard seed faith; it came from God. Place it in God and ask for big things to happen according to His will. And don’t be surprised when the mountains move.
