Hebrews 13:15, Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess His name. 16And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. 17Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
At Cottonwood Creek, I’ve been teaching a series entitled, “Building A Great Life God’s Way!” We have learned that faith and commitment are a couple of key ingredients to building a great life. This week’s key for building a great life is- sacrifice. Sacrifice is defined as surrendering or giving up something for the sake of someone else. We can’t have a great life if we live a selfish life.
In Hebrews 13:15 it says, “… let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess His name.” When we praise God for His love, grace and power in our lives that is a sacrifice of praise.
The verse continues, “the fruit of lips that openly profess His name.” Living a great life means our words do not demonstrate selfishness. We do not constantly talk about our personal achievements, but instead, we offer God a sacrifice of praise that constantly professes His love, grace, power and provision in our lives. As we make our journey today, let us not forget the sacrifice of praising God and openly professing God’s name in a positive way in both our private prayers and our public conversations.
Think about that and have a blessed day!
