John 13:34, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

At Cottonwood Creek, I’ve been in a teaching series entitled, “The Case For Christ.” At its core, Christianity has always been about evidence. In John 13:34, when Jesus had washed the disciples’ feet, He told His disciples it was time for Him to depart and go to the cross, and that after the resurrection, He would ascend back into heaven. After Jesus ascended into heaven, He wanted His disciples to know how to live and treat each other. He gave them these instructions. Jesus said in John 13:34, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

Those were simple instructions- to love one another.  He followed those instructions by saying, “By this all men will know you are My disciples if you love one another.” Jesus was saying the best evidence of our Christianity is the way we treat and love others. As you make your journey into the weekend, remember at its core, Christianity has always been about the evidence. The same can be said about your life. The best evidence of your Christianity is your love for those around you.

Have a blessed weekend, and I hope to see you in church on Sunday!
