Proverbs 3:5, Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…

It’s the New Year and if you’re like me, 2017 could not have come soon enough. Many people make New Year’s resolutions each year, and I want to offer you some wisdom from the book of Proverbs as you kick off this New Year. One of the most popular Proverbs in the Bible is Proverbs 3:5 which says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…”

The world emphasizes the importance of placing your trust in your: job, finances, health, people, the government… While these categories are not inherently bad, they will always fall short of fulfilling your true desire in life. The Bible reminds you to trust in the Lord in every aspect and to not lean on your own doing or understanding. Truthfully, you may be able to get by for a while, but eventually, you will come to a place when your own way of doing things will fail. In this new year, look  to God for direction.

Think about it and have a happy New Year!
