Colossians 3:8, But now you must also rid yourself of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
Are you angry today, at someone or something? If so, read this verse by the Apostle Paul, “…you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice…” You may ask, “Why do I have to get rid of my anger?” Well, because it’s yours. You own it, and no one can get rid of your anger but you. Too many times we say, “But I’m angry at someone else because of something they did to me.” While this may be true, they own their bad action, but you still own your anger.
Being angry has negative health benefits physically and relationally. Anger has been proven to drive our blood pressure up, which harms your health. It also drives wedges between your relationships and hurts your friends, your family and ultimately you. If you are seething with anger about something today, let it go and get rid of it! The negative consequences on your health and relationships are not worth it.
Think about it…and have a blessed day!
