2 Corinthians 9:15, Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

How stressed out are you at Christmas? As I look around this time of year, I see hurry and scurry and hustle and bustle. When I talk to many people, they just feel overwhelmed with all they have to do throughout December.

But if you think you are stressed, try this out. I ran across an article by Philip Bump last year who calculated Santa’s busy schedule on Christmas Eve. After factoring in all the nuances of time zones, distance between houses, and how many children are in each house, here’s what Bump came up with. Santa has to deliver presents to some 22 million kids every hour. That’s about 365,00 kids a minute and about 6, 100 kids a second. Now that is a stressful job.

So… take a deep breath. Force yourself to slow down, and don’t ever forget in the midst of all those presents you are buying, wrapping, giving and receiving this Christmas that there is only one Gift that really matters this Christmas! That gift is none other than Jesus Christ for whom Christmas derives its origins and name, and the good news is that that gift has already been given. So relax and join the Apostle Paul in saying, “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15

Take Care and have a Merry Christmas!
