Mark 6:39, Then Jesus directed them to have all the people sit down in groups on the green grass. 40So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. 41Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then He gave them to His disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.
Deuteronomy 16:17, Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the LORD your God has blessed you.
2 Corinthians 9:7, Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
I am currently teaching a sermon series called “Building A Great Life!” As we attempt to build a great life, sometimes we need God to perform a miracle in our circumstances. Mark 6 shows us perhaps the most well-known miracle, and it is the only miracle of Jesus that is told in all four Gospels. Jesus fed 5,000 people with five loaves and two fish. This week’s blogs will focus on different ways you can prepare for a miracle in your life.
One way to prepare for a miracle is that you must be willing to give what you have to God! Once the disciples admitted they had a need and counted up what they already had, which was exactly five loaves and two fish, they gave the bread and the fish to Jesus. That’s when the miracle happened. The miracle didn’t’ happen when they simply stated the need, and the miracle didn’t happen when they counted what they had. The miracle happened when they were willing to give what they did have to Jesus, and then He multiplied it. Maybe that is where you are today, you need a miracle, but you aren’t willing to give what you do have to God. Trust God today. You might need a miracle in your finances, your occupation, your marriage, your family, your health, your emotions, your spiritual walk… Whatever it is, start by giving it to God.
Take care and have a blessed day!

MARK 6: 34-44
34 So as He stepped ashore, He saw a huge crowd and had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. Then He began to teach them many things.
35 When it was already late, His disciples approached Him and said, “This place is a wilderness, and it is already late! 36 Send them away, so they can go into the surrounding countryside and villages to buy themselves something to eat.”
37 “You give them something to eat,” He responded.
They said to Him, “Should we go and buy 200 denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”
38 And He asked them, “How many loaves do you have? Go look.”
When they found out they said, “Five, and two fish.”
39 Then He instructed them to have all the people sit down[k] in groups on the green grass. 40 So they sat down in ranks of hundreds and fifties. 41 Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke the loaves. He kept giving them to His disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42 Everyone ate and was filled. 43 Then they picked up 12 baskets full of pieces of bread and fish. 44 Now those who ate the loaves were 5,000 men.
