Mark 11:22, “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”
Hebrews 11:24, By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God … 29By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.
At Cottonwood Creek, I started a new teaching series entitled “Building a Great Life.” The first key to building a great life is to build our faith. In Mark 11:22, Jesus said, “Have faith in God!” Most of us know in our heads that we need to have faith in God, and probably most of us wish we had more faith in God, but how do we grow our faith?
One way to build your faith is to chose God’s path when it is not the easier path.
Hebrews 11:24 says, “By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God …” The easier path for Moses would have been to stay in Pharaoh’s house in Egypt and be treated like a prince. God called him to a more difficult path, and he chose to listen to God instead of his own pleasure. That was hard, and his faith grew. As a result, the Bible says, that by faith Moses was able to lead the children of Israel through the Red Sea on dry ground.
Difficulties can build and strengthen our faith, and a stronger faith will build a great life.
Think about that and have a blessed day!
