Matthew 28:18, “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

For the past few weeks, most of us spent a lot of time focusing on the events of Jesus’ life leading up to the resurrection. Sunday was that day so the story is over and we can move on – not hardly! I thought I would spend this week looking at some of the most important events that took place in Jesus’ life on earth AFTER the resurrection.

Probably one of the most talked about and often quoted statements Jesus made after His resurrection can be found in Matthew 28 when Jesus met with His disciples and said these words, “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Matthew’s Gospel closes with this ‘Great Commission’ where Jesus instructs His disciples to go out into the world and spread the good news of salvation. This passage has long been the basis of the Christian emphasis on sharing the Gospel with the world. It is still our primary motivation as a church at Cottonwood Creek.

Think about it, and have a blessed day!
