It took Noah Webster twenty-six years and learning twenty eight languages for him to complete the famous Webster’s dictionary. He is considered one of America’s Founding Fathers as well as the “Father of American Scholarship.”

Mr. Webster was also instrumental in updating the Bible with more common language so that its full meaning would be understood. He saw great value in the scripture and its power to influence us in the right directions and away from problem areas. He said:  “All of the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery and war, proceed from them despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible.”

So, the next time you look up the meaning of a word in a dictionary or online, remember that the founder of the American dictionary and the Father of American scholarship knew that the Bible had the definition for successful living.
