When you look in the mirror, what do you see? One Houston man decided on January 1 of this year that he wanted his old body back. That body was forty pounds lighter. He posted a picture of himself on his facebook page and asked his real friends to hold him accountable.

Every morning he took a twenty minute walk. He ate healthy meals every day. Most days on his way home from work he stopped for a short bout of weight lifting at his gym, and he would end each day with another twenty minute walk at night.

In just twelve short weeks, he lost forty pounds and says he feels the best he has felt in years. Think about that… twelve short weeks with incredible returns.

This reminds me of how quickly we can turn things around and change both the physical and spiritual path of our lives. Nothing this man did was rocket science. This man prioritized small changes and received encouragement from his friends.

There are also some simple, but high-impact things you can do to get in spiritual shape. The recipe for quick gains in your spiritual life includes: Read your bible; go to worship; pray, and get encouragement from others.

This is how the writer of Hebrews put it–

Hebrews 10:25: not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Think about that today…and expect great things spiritually!
