You know God created us to be relational beings.  He created us for relationships.  But as we look around at life we often see that our relationships are struggling.  I recently read an article that mentioned two major relationship killers in marriage, friendship, or a work environment.

The two relationship killers are “Selfishness” and “Resentment.”  One or both of those are direct causes of most broken relationship.   Scripture offers solutions for these relationship killers:

Solution # 1:

  • If Selfishness Destroys Our Relationships –The Bible says SELFLESSNESS Builds Them Up!

James 4:1,  What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?  In other words, SELFISHNESS flows from the heart of a person who cares more about their own wants and needs than they do about others.

 Solution #2:

  • If Resentment Destroys Our Relationships – FORGIVENESS Builds Them Up!
Hebrews 12:15, 15 See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.  In other words, if you’ve been hurt in a relationship don’t let bitterness over past pains destroy the joys of today.

If you want to improve your marriage, friendships or your work environment, replace selfishness with unselfishness and replace bitterness with forgiveness.  Chances are that you will have a blessed day!
