This week we’ve been looking at the importance of choosing good, close friends. Yesterday, we looked at the first characteristic of choosing a close friend. You need to choose close friends that will challenge you mentally.

The second characteristic is: You need to choose close friends that will support you emotionally. The Bible says, A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. (Proverbs 17:17) There are times in all of our lives when circumstances are not going well, and that is when we need our good friends to step in and support us.

The third characteristic you should look for when choosing a close friend is: You need to choose a close friend who will “strengthen you spiritually!”

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24)

Those words “one another” speak to close friends. Close friends should spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

So, remember:
You need to look for close friends who will “Challenge you Mentally, Support you Emotionally and Strengthen you Spiritually!”

Tomorrow, we will look at habits you need to possess in order to become a good friend.

Take care and have a blessed day!
