Recently, I saw an article titled, “Surprisingly Easy Things You Can Do to Live Longer.”  Hey, I’m up for living longer especially if it’s easy. The doctor who wrote the article stated that there are two clear cut things that you can do to help yourself live longer.

1) Keep a regular routine – Try to get up and go to sleep at the same time. Get into a routine with your activities. Studies show those that keep a routine live longer.
2) Get off your Butt (those were the doctor’s words- not mine) – The doctor said even if you’re not an exerciser, the more you simply get up and move around the longer you will live. He said, “Our bodies were designed to move.”

So I guess the title of the article is accurate—those were “surprisingly easy things you can do to live longer.” As I thought about it, I was reminded of two surprisingly easy things you can do to be healthier spiritually.

1) Keep a regular routine of worship – every Sunday is good for the body and the soul.
2) Get off your butt and serve someone – God created us to love and serve.

That’s why Jesus said in Matthew 22, Love the Lord your God will all your heart mind and soul…and love your neighbor as yourself.
