I just finished reading another article in Forbes magazine about being “Personally and Professionally Successful in 2014.” Here is what it said to be successful:
1) Believe you have something positive to offer in every situation.
2) Be willing and happy to share what you do have.
3) Treat others exactly as you would like others to treat you!
My initial thought was… “That’s good advice!” Then I thought, “Wait a Minute! I’ve heard that before.”
I turned to Matthew 7:12, and right there in the middle of the Sermon on the Mount Jesus said, “…in everything, do unto others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”
I guess its Welcome to the Party Forbes Magazine—you have stumbled onto the words that Jesus spoke some 2,000 years ago, and Christ followers have been practicing ever since.
I encourage you to read the entire “Sermon on the Mount” in Matthew chapters 5-7. I will guarantee that you will find some other incredible words of Jesus that will make 2014 your most successful year ever.
Have a blessed day!
