The Second Key to Successful Living: Get Rid of All Deceit – April 14, 2015

1 PETER 2:1, So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. 2Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

This week’s Inspirational Thoughts will examine I Peter 2:1 which says, “Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind”  and learn 5 keys to successful living.

The first key to successful living is to get rid of all malice. The second key to successful living is to get rid of all deceit.

The dictionary defines deceit as “concealing or distorting the truth for the purpose of misleading.” We usually conceal or distort the truth when we have done something wrong or we want to make ourselves look better than we are. The Apostle Paul said there is a better way.  Instead of speaking deceitful lies, try vocalizing truth.  Ephesians 4:15 tells us,  “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ”.

So remember, get rid of all malice in exchange for kindness, and abandon deceit for truth.

Have a blessed day!
