Colossians 1:11, May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy…

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. When God closes a door, He opens a window. We hear saying like this all the time, which really are not from the Bible. Have you heard this one, ‘God wants you to be happy’? While this is derived from Biblical truth, the definition of happiness varies greatly. Our definition of happiness is not the same as His definition. Sometimes God allows us to be tempered through difficult trials. Colossians 1:11 says, May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy…”  We are to be strengthened in Him, so we can learn to trust Him deeper and to be ready when more trials come across our paths. The best part, I think, is to eventually walk alongside others who suffer the same trials and point them to Christ. God’s definition of happiness is so much better than we can ever imagine. God’s word also says delight yourself in Him and He will give you the desires of your heart. If your delight is in Him, He is in your heart, and His desires will become your desires.
