Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.
The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.
This week, my blog examined Biblical Principles for living financially healthy lives. Over the past few days, we have studied four warnings that the Bible says we should NOT do with our money.
Today and tomorrow we will cover what the Bible says we SHOULD do with our money.
First, the Bible says we should realize that money can be a pretty good barometer of our spiritual maturity. The way we handle our money speaks pretty clearly as to whether we trust God or trust our money.
Proverbs 11:28 says, “Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf. In other words, if I trust my money, it will always let me down; however, if I trust God then God will never let me down.”
Secondly, the Bible says we should have a plan or a budget for our money. “The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways…” Proverbs 14:8
You may have heard it said, “If you fail to plan then you are planning to fail.” That is the way it is with our money if we do not have a budget, we are going to fail at money management.
Tomorrow we will look at two more ways the Bible says we should handle our money.
Think about it and have a blessed day!
