“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Luke 16:13

Yesterday, we started looking at the importance of being financially healthy! I reminded you that Jesus said more about money than He did about heaven and hell combined.

Today, I thought we would start with the NEGATIVE by giving four things the Bible says we should NOT do with our money.

First, the Bible says DON’T WASTE IT!  It is not unlimited.

The second thing the Bible says is DON’T LOVE IT or LIVE FOR IT! In Luke 16:13, Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money! Jesus was saying that it is impossible to live with a divided allegiance.

Jesus was also saying that if you choose to love God then you can use your money to love God and serve man. However, if you love your money, you won’t be able to love God or love people.

Those are the first two thoughts from the Bible about your money: Don’t Waste it and don’t love it!

Join me tomorrow for two more ways Jesus says we should NOT handle our money.

Have a blessed day!
