Proverbs 25:28, Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.

1 Peter 5:8, Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Yesterday I started answering the question “How do you Deal with how you feel?” The answer is that God created us with emotions, and they are a good thing when used in the right measure.

The Bible says, Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. Proverbs 25:28 In other words, we have to keep our emotions in check. We can’t blow up in every tight spot nor can we implode every time we experience life’s pressures.

Why do we need to keep our emotions in check? The first reason to manage your emotions is because our emotions are one of Satan’s favorite tools that he likes to use against us.

1 Peter 5:8 says, Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

And those words “Be alert and of sober mind” speak directly to being self-controlled in our emotions. In other words, we can’t let our emotions get the best of us in any situation because if we do, “Satan will eat us alive.”

Join me tomorrow as we look at a second reason to manage our emotions.

Have a blessed day!
