Galatians 6:9, Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
This past weekend a 94 year old man graduated from West Virginia University, 75 years after he enrolled as a freshman. He enrolled in his first class in 1939, when tuition was only $50. He was drafted in 1942 and then re-enrolled in 1946 when his time of military service had ended. However, soon after that he had to withdraw from the university to care for his sick wife and never got around to finishing. That has all changed now, and he has finished his degree. When he was asked what he would do next, he said jokingly that he planned to take a break and then pursue a Master’s degree.
As I thought about that 94 year old graduate, I was reminded of these words from the Apostle Paul, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Take your cue today from the Apostle Paul and the 94 year old graduate. Don’t give up, don’t quit, and don’t be deterred!
Think about it…and have a blessed day!
