1 Peter 3:8, Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.

Everyone loves a good competition. There is something about watching two opposing forces battle it out on the field. The problem starts when our love for sports and competition leaks into our churches. There are times when we compete for the best children’s program, youth group, worship band and pastor. This kind of competition results in a wedge between our churches and can lead to a halt in the effectiveness of our ministries.

1 Peter 3:8 says, Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.

We must understand that all believers rest under the lordship of Jesus Christ. In other words, we all have the same coach, and we are all on the same team. As the body of Christ, let’s seek unity with a tender heart and humble mind, knowing that we are all fighting for the same goal, which is, to bring glory and honor to our most deserving Lord.

Have a blessed day.
