Who is in Your ‘Guidance Pool’?

Proverbs 11:14, Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.

Read the following Proverb which says, “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. Proverbs 11: 14

Did you get the point of that Proverb? We all need guidance in our lives regardless of how young or old we are. Without good guidance, we will struggle at whatever we are trying to do.

Too often when we want advice, we go to our peers or those who are closest to us. Sometimes we go to them because we know they will give us the answers we want to hear even if it is not the best guidance we could receive. That is where the second part of the Proverb comes in. “…in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”

If we are not careful, we can be tempted to think we always know what the right thing to do is. That is simply not the case. We do not know what to do in every circumstance because that is part of being human.

And that is why Solomon, the wisest person who ever lived said, “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.” Look around you today and ask yourself who you should add to your to your guidance pool. The answer may surprise you. Chances are, it will not always be the person who gives you the answer you want to hear.

Think about it and have a wise day!
