John 2:23, Now while He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs He was performing and believed in His name.
At Cottonwood Creek, I’ve been in a teaching series entitled, “The Case For Christ!” The beauty of ‘The Case For Christ’ is that it is filled with evidence of who Jesus Christ is. John 2:23 says, “Now while He was in Jerusalem … many people saw the signs He was performing and believed in His name.” Those first century followers of Jesus had the opportunity to see the evidence for the deity of Jesus Christ first hand. They saw Him; they saw His miracles, and they saw the changed lives of those who followed Him.
We can never forget that we have those same evidences today but even more. We have the words of the eyewitnesses as recorded in the Bible. We have the changed lives of those apostles who first ran with fear upon His crucifixion but then showed boldness and courage to the point of death after His resurrection. Then we have the testimony of the New Testament church as the Gospel exploded on the scene. At its core, Christianity has always been based on evidences. Yes, faith saves us, but our faith is placed in a real Jesus who performed real miracles witnessed by real followers and was really resurrected from the grave. Don’t ever forget that.
Think about that and have a blessed day!
