Joshua 1:9, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
James 1:6, But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
2 Corinthians 10:12, We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.
My current sermon series is entitled, “Bold: Learning To Live With An Audacious Faith.” In order to get rid of doubt and fear, we must identify the causes for them. Two common causes of doubt are: comparing ourselves to others and our focusing on past failures. These doubts simmer and create fear and uncertainty tied to our future success.
The Bible says do not go around comparing yourself to others, and do not focus on your past failures. Instead, face today with courage and an audacious faith. We must remember that God has a plan for our lives. When Joshua was getting ready to enter the promised land, he had numerous doubts. He doubted his own abilities and remembered his own failures. God say to Joshua in Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” If you have doubts about your future, get rid of them and listen to God’s Word, Be strong. Have courage. Know that God is with you. That’s how you get rid of your doubts and fears!
Take care and have a blessed day!
