Matthew 16:24, Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me. 25For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me will find it. 26What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and then He will reward each person according to what they have done.

My current sermon series is titled “Building A Great Life.” Sunday, I noted that one of the keys to building a great life is commitment. If you are going to have a great life you have to make commitments that count.

In Matthew 16, Jesus talked about the greatest commitment anyone could ever make. He said in Matthew 16:24, “Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me. 25For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me will find it. 26What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” Did you get what Jesus was saying? Jesus tells us that our commitments matter, but we must make commitments that count. Tomorrow’s blog will note two ways to make commitments that honor God in your life.

Take care and have a blessed day!
