1 Timothy 6:18, Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
Matthew 6:20, But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Luke 16:9, I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.
At Cottonwood Creek, I am teaching a series entitled, “Bold: Learning To Live With An Audacious Faith.” What is the best financial investment you can make? Jesus said in Luke 16:9, “… use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.” Jesus did not mean for you to buy friends with money. What He meant was that you should use the money God gives you to bring other people to Christ. In other words, make eternal friends.
You’ve probably heard the expression, “you can’t take your money with you.” And that’s certainly true. The Bible says, we brought nothing into this world and we can’t take anything out of it either. Jesus told us to store up for ourselves treasures in Heaven (Matthew 6:20-21). We can do this by using our money or our treasure to build God’s kingdom. When we invest in God’s kingdom and use our treasures to bring others to Christ, someday, we will walk through the gates of Heaven, and someone will say, “Thank you- I’m here because you gave your time and your talents to share the Gospel.” That’s the best investment you can ever make!
Take care and have a blessed day!
