God Wants To Bless You Through Others – August 9, 2016

Genesis 12:1, The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. 2“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Sunday I began a new teaching series titled, Navigating Life’s Journey. The first key to understanding life’s journey is a proper understanding of God’s blessings in our lives. God wants to bless you, and God wants to bless others through you!

Yesterday’s blog mentioned the way to receive God’s blessings in our lives was to have right relationships with God and God’s people, but we can never forget that when God blesses us, He blesses us for the purpose of blessing others through us. Read Genesis 12:2, “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you… and you will be a blessing. Did you get that? God said He would bless you! However, God didn’t say He would bless you for the sole purpose of you being blessed. No, God said, “I will bless you… and make your name great, and you will be a blessing to others.” If you want to see God’s blessings, you really have to be willing to bless others in the process. In other words, the true blessings of God only come when we are unselfish and willing to bless others.

Think about that and have a blessed day!
