5 Scientifically Proven Ways To Increase Your Happiness – November 28, 2016

Hebrews 12:1, Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Pioneer and Perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

I recently read an article titled, “Scientifically Proven Ways to Increase your Happiness,” and I thought I would share five of those with you this week. This may be the best week you have had in a while. The first one is, “Practice Mindfulness,” or in other words, pay attention. In a recent study, a Harvard psychologist contacted 2,250 participants at random intervals during the day to find out what activities they were engaged in and their thoughts and feelings. The results were pretty startling; those who are paying attention and concentrating on the task at hand were happier than those who were simply daydreaming or not paying attention.

The take away for you today is to pay attention to what you are doing. Focus on the task and people at hand, and if you find yourself alone, focus on Jesus. The Bible says in Hebrews 12:1, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Pioneer and Perfecter of faith…” So don’t forget, focused people are happier people.

Think about it…and have a great day!
