Do Everything With Character, Integrity And Trustworthiness – August 23, 2016

Genesis 39:2, The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.

Proverbs 6:16, There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

The past few weeks I’ve been teaching a series titled, ‘Navigating Life’s Journey God’s Way!’ Sunday, we looked at 5 keys to success in life, from Joseph, found in the book of Genesis. If you missed the first key, you can find it on my daily blog, www.johnmarkcaton.com

The second key to Joseph’s success in life was his integrity and character. After being sold into slavery by his brothers, Joseph was put to work in a wealthy man’s house named Potiphar. The Bible says that Joseph was so trustworthy that Potiphar put him in charge of everything in his household. However, Potiphar’s wife tried to get Joseph to compromise his character and have an inappropriate relationship with her. Joseph said no. It is true that she made false charges against him that ultimately cost him his position and job, but that still didn’t change the fact that Joseph had done nothing wrong. Joseph’s character was intact and that’s the one thing he could take with him even after he lost his lofty position.

If you find yourself tempted to compromise your character and integrity, don’t!  Stand firm even if it cost you something. People of high character and integrity always bounce back.

Think about that and have a blessed day!
