Show Grace To Others – June 28, 2016

Luke 23:34, And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”

This month I have been teaching a series titled, “Faces of Grace!” I titled it “Faces of Grace” for simple reason. We all need grace. We are the faces of grace.

Yesterday’s blog topic discussed the need for grace when we mess up, but we must also remember that there are times in our lives when we need to offer grace to others when they mess up. There is no greater example of forgiveness and grace than Jesus Himself. After Jesus had been betrayed by His friends, falsely accused by His enemies, and nailed to a cross by those He came to save, how did Jesus respond? He responded with grace. Read Jesus’ words from the cross found in Luke 23:34, “And Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.’”

Now that is grace! When Jesus was dying for a lost world, all Jesus could think about was forgiveness and grace. Jesus became our example of how to respond to those who are responsible for our agony. He became our example of how to respond to those who don’t deserve forgiveness. He forgave them no matter what! So today, whatever it is or whoever it is that has caused you pain, ask God to forgive them, and then ask God to help you forgive them as well.

Think about that…and have a grace-filled day!
