Sarah, One Who Doubted God! – February 22, 2016

Hebrews 11:11, And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered Him faithful who had made the promise.

This week, we are reading in Hebrews 11 where we are given a pretty impressive list of the heroic men and women of the Old Testament. Hebrews 11 is often called the “Hall of Faith” or the “Faith Hall of Fame.” However, this week I want to focus on those with a pretty checkered past but still made the “Faith Hall of Fame.” In other words, not everyone on this list lived a perfect life. However, God still used them in a mighty way and here’s the good news. Regardless of your past, God can still use you if you will simply let Him.

Take Sarah for instance, she waited a long time after child-bearing age for the promised child. She wasn’t perfect. The Bible tells us that Sarah doubted God, and she struggled to believe that God would ultimately make good on His promises. Perhaps you’re like Sarah today and you doubt God. If that’s you, just remember Sarah. Realize that even though she doubted God and had lost hope, God still provided a child, and she ultimately ended up in the “Hall of Faith!”

Think about it….and have a blessed day!
