Five Characteristics Of God: Faithfulness, Goodness, Merciful, Gracious And Love
God Is Grace – February 19, 2016

Hebrews 4:16, Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

This week, I’ve shared five biblical characteristics of God. If you missed the other four, you can find them on my daily blog. The fifth characteristic of God is that He is GRACIOUS. The dictionary defines grace as a full pardon: or complete immunity. That’s exactly what God does through Jesus. He grants us a pardon from our sins! He gives us total immunity from our transgressions. That’s why the writer of the book of Hebrews wrote, “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). What an incredible picture of a God that is filled with amazing grace. It’s God’s grace that gives us the confidence to draw near to His throne.

In biblical times, much more than today, they understood that no one approached the King’s throne with confidence. But, God’s not a ruthless dictator king. No, God is a merciful King filled with grace for each and every one of us. Now that’s a great thought as we head into the weekend. Draw near to the throne of grace. I hope Sunday morning, you will find your way to worship, so you can confidently approach the King’s throne because that’s where you will find true grace.

Think about it…and have a blessed weekend!
